Just a follow up on the darkside tire; I had it put on Saturday and the tire shop couldn't balance the wheel but they did put 3 ounces of beads in for me. I used the "layover method" to get the wheel off and it really was very easy. WebJul 27, 2024 · The 16" 1800 wheels are WAY better for going darkside. So it is entirely possible that an Altimax is good on an 1800 wheel, and too spongy on an 1300. So it is wheel diameter AND width that makes the 1300 wheel subpar to the 1800 wheel. You are right, I probably should have better explained my response.
