WebThe watershed comprises about 29,000 acres. Most of the area consists approximately 70% of agricultural land but is also includes urban communities such as Brooklyn, Grinnell, and Malcom. The landscape is hilly, and the soils are prone to erosion. The creek is on the list of Iowa Impaired Waters because it can only sustain limited aquatic life.
